How to configure DNS for your domain name on eNom

For your site to be available to the public, you’ll need to configure your domain settings. Specifically, you’ll need to add an A Record to your domain registrar to point to the IP address of your server.

Before you get started, find the IP address for your server, either from the Hosting Welcome Email or log in to your customer account, and check the IP address under Services > Cloud Hosting > Product details.

Then, you’ll need to visit your domain registrar, in this case eNom, and perform the following steps.

  1. Log into your eNom account and select the menu Domains. Then click My Domains.
  2. Click the domain name you wish to edit.
  3. From the Manage Domain drop-down menu, select Host Records.
  4. Enter @ in the Host Name field, which corresponds to your domain. Insert the IP address provided in the Customer Account panel (shown above) in the Address field. In the Record Type drop-down menu, pick A (Address).
  5. You should also enter www in the Host Name field, select the CNAME Record Type and add the address of your-domain-name.com, in the Address field.
  6. Click Save to complete the process.

Please Note...

Once you have made changes to your DNS settings at the registrar, there will be 24-48 hours of DNS propagation during which your website may not be available.
