Whenever you have read something really interesting, probably the first thing you want to do is tell all your friends, family and distant relatives what was so interesting about it. Luckily there’s now an easy way of sharing with that information with the people you know using a very useful and handy little tool called “ShareThis”. As a writer of blogs or articles it allows you to add the functionality of letting people share your article without too much fussing around. As a user it allows you to tell your friends about anything interesting you’ve read and to store it in your favorite bookmark website for future reference.
When using WordPress for special character websites such as Chinese, you have to be careful to manually specify the Permalinks. If you use Chinese characters for the title of a page or a post, then the Permalink that is automatically generated by WordPress will be come out in a strange format and won’t work correctly.
A great way to promote your blog is to include your latest posts in your email signature. This way every time someone opens an email from you, they get reminded of your blog and hopefully will pay a visit.
On the left is an example of my email signature, which also includes links to my Linkedin page, Facebook page and Eggplant Flickr account. These are also pretty useful in getting colleague’s, clients and friends to connect with you.
